Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has vehemently denied the allegations made against him by his former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, calling them outright lies. In a recent legal filing, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, claimed that Wood and her friend Illma Gore concocted a plan to ruin his career.
According to legal documents, Manson accused Wood and Gore of recruiting others to make false accusations against him, forging a letter from the FBI to make it appear as though he was under investigation, and pressuring individuals to come forward with allegations of abuse. These accusations were made in an attempt to have the defamation case against Wood and Gore reopened.
Last year, Wood accused Manson of various forms of abuse, including mental, sexual, and physical. She also alleged that he threatened to harm her young son. In response, Manson filed a lawsuit against Wood and Gore for intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation.
However, a California judge dismissed Manson’s lawsuit under a state law that prevents powerful individuals from using legal action to silence their accusers. Manson’s attorney, Howard E. King, claimed that Wood and Gore engaged in a campaign of harassment against Manson, including hacking his accounts, spreading lies, and even orchestrating a false police report.
One of Manson’s accusers reportedly recanted her allegations under oath, stating that she felt pressured by Wood to lie about Manson. New York attorney Peter J. Gleason warned that Wood could face serious consequences if the FBI letter is proven to be a forgery, potentially leading to prosecution by the Department of Justice.
Wood and Manson are also locked in a legal battle over the $387,000 in legal fees that Wood incurred while defending herself against Manson’s lawsuit. Manson argues that the billing records submitted by Wood are vague and contain redactions, while Wood’s team maintains that Manson is attempting to evade his responsibility to reimburse her for legal expenses.
Despite the ongoing legal drama, Manson is determined to have his day in court and clear his name of the allegations made against him. Wood’s representatives maintain her innocence, stating that she did not fabricate or forge the FBI letter and has never pressured anyone to make false accusations against Manson.
The contentious legal battle between Manson and Wood continues to unfold, with both parties standing firm in their respective positions.
