Marjorie Taylor Greene engaged in a heated debate with “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl as they both accused each other of contributing to the toxic political climate.
During the interview, the Georgia congresswoman addressed her recent apology on CNN for her involvement in perpetuating toxicity in politics.
Greene expressed her belief that the current political environment in America is at its most toxic state, leading Stahl to accuse Greene of contributing to this toxicity by insulting people.
In response, Greene countered by accusing Stahl of also playing a part in fueling toxicity through her accusatory approach. The exchange between the two escalated before eventually subsiding.
During another segment of the interview, Greene claimed that former President Trump’s labeling her as a traitor directly led to death threats against her, following her divergence from the MAGA movement after years of staunch support.
In recent weeks, Greene has publicly criticized Trump, particularly in relation to the release of the “Epstein Files.” As a committed Republican, she announced her resignation from Congress effective January.
