Following Costar’s Alleged Misconduct

Star of “Matlock”, Leah Lewis, has voiced her thoughts after her co-star David Del Rio was dismissed from the CBS series due to allegations of sexual assault against her.
The actress commented, “My mom is here, and we are stepping forward, filled with love and strength. I’m in good hands. I appreciate all the support and care. We are truly moving ahead with resilience. Remember, resilience is key. That should be the takeaway.”
According to sources familiar with the matter, Del Rio was removed from the Paramount studio last week as soon as the allegations surfaced.
Reports suggest that the incident occurred on the Paramount grounds, with Deadline indicating it took place on September 26.
Del Rio’s character, Billy Martinez, a key figure in the reboot which stars Kathy Bates, will be written out of the show immediately as confirmed by CBS studios. He has featured in 20 episodes.
Interestingly, the legal drama incorporated themes of sexual assault in its third episode of the inaugural season, where Matlock, portrayed by Kathy, takes on a case involving a young lawyer alleging misconduct by a superior.
Season 2 of “Matlock” will debut this Sunday.
