Next month, personal belongings from the estate of late “Friends” actor Matthew Perry will be auctioned off in collaboration with his non-profit foundation, which is dedicated to diminishing the stigma surrounding addiction.

The auction will feature “Friends”-related memorabilia such as a collection of 26 scripts from episodes like “The One With Ross’s Tan,” “The One Where Joey Speaks French,” and the two-part series finale, “The Last One.” Additionally, there are two scripts signed by Perry and his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, which were donated by Warner Bros. Other items include a photo album titled “The One With the Last Supper,” containing a letter from “Jenny,” and a replica of the yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment owned by Perry.

Starting June 5, the charity auction will allocate its net proceeds to furthering Matthew’s most impactful legacy: fostering a future devoid of addiction stigma, ensuring that everyone seeking recovery can access the necessary care, resources, and community support they need to prosper, as stated by Heritage Auctions.

Other beneficiaries of the auction proceeds include the Matthew Perry Foundation Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Healing Appalachia, a music festival focused on recovery, and recovery grants for other grassroots organizations.

Perry struggled with addiction for much of his life and passed away on October 28, 2023, due to the effects of ketamine use.

Also included in the auction are Perry’s 1995 SAG Award for outstanding ensemble performance in a television comedy series and a personal collection of art pieces from artists like Banksy and Mel Bochner. Proxy bidding for the Matthew Perry Estate Auction began on Tuesday, allowing interested participants to place bids ahead of the live auction. The items will be available for preview at Heritage Auctions’ Beverly Hills showroom from May 18 to 29, before the auction is held both online and in person in Dallas on June 5.

“Matthew believed addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” stated Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation. “This auction supports the foundation’s mission to enhance access to evidence-based care and address stigma. It is another way to ensure that no one has to battle this disease alone.”
