Mayor of Kingstown Renewed for Fifth and Final Season
The hit crime drama “Mayor of Kingstown” has officially been renewed for a fifth and final season on Paramount+. Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the show will return for a shorter season consisting of eight episodes.
The series, which first premiered in 2022, stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, a man tasked with keeping the peace between street criminals, cops, and prisoners in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan. In the upcoming season, viewers can expect to see the aftermath of a bloody gang war that unfolded in the Season 4 finale, where new powers are vying for control of the city.
In addition to Renner, the cast of “Mayor of Kingstown” includes talented actors such as Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi.
While Dillon has previously mentioned that he and Sheridan had envisioned a seven-season arc for the show, “Mayor of Kingstown” has faced challenges in reaching the same ratings success as some of Sheridan’s other projects like “Landman” and “Tulsa King.”
Sheridan and Dillon, along with Renner, serve as executive producers on the series, with Dave Erickson as showrunner. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Fans of the show can look forward to the final season of “Mayor of Kingstown,” which is sure to deliver intense drama, gripping storytelling, and stellar performances from its talented cast. Stay tuned for more updates on when the new season will premiere on Paramount+.
