The red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards was lit up with humor and style as “Hacks” stars Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs decided to make a statement with their unique fashion choices. In a playful spoof of Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s recent orange vinyl outfits at the premiere of “Marty Supreme,” Stalter and Downs rocked their own bold orange ensembles.

Downs, who is not only a star but also a co-creator and executive producer of “Hacks,” sported a ping pong paddle as a crossbody bag while Stalter accessorized with a massive cross necklace reminiscent of Jenner’s look. The duo’s commitment to the bit had the crowd in stitches, showcasing their fun-loving and creative spirits.

“Marty Supreme,” set in the 1950s, centers around a man’s journey to become the world champion of ping pong. Chalamet and Jenner had turned heads with their matching orange outfits, continuing the film’s marketing theme. Downs and Stalter’s playful homage to the iconic duo was a hit on the red carpet.

As the pair made their way into the awards ceremony, Downs shared that their goal was simply to have fun and enjoy the evening. “Hacks” is nominated for best comedy series, with Downs also up for the comedy supporting actor award. Chalamet and “Marty Supreme” are also among the nominees for the prestigious Critics Choice Awards.

Despite the heavy rain in Southern California, Downs pointed out that their vinyl outfits were perfect for the weather. The waterproof material kept them dry, with Stalter noting how the water simply slid off her dress. The duo’s sense of humor and style shone through even in adverse weather conditions.

When asked about “Marty Supreme,” Downs gave it a glowing review, expressing his love for the film directed by Josh Safdie. Stalter, on the other hand, admitted she hadn’t seen it yet, despite being friends with Jenner. The actress revealed a fun tradition she shares with Jenner – “sushi Fridays” where they bond over their love for sushi.

As the conversation turned to the possibility of Chalamet guest-starring on “Hacks,” Downs expressed openness to the idea, stating that they would make room for him. With their infectious energy and playful antics, Stalter and Downs brought a touch of whimsy to the Critics Choice Awards red carpet, proving that style and humor go hand in hand.
