Meghan Markle Receives Birthday Wishes from Royal Family
Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s contentious break from the royal family, Meghan Markle was not completely snubbed when it came to birthday well-wishers. In a surprising turn of events, Harry’s brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with his father, King Charles, and stepmother Queen Camilla, all sent birthday tributes to Meghan.
In 2022, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a stunning photo of Meghan on their social media pages, captioned: “Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” The gesture was a clear indication that despite the rift within the royal family, there was still a level of respect and acknowledgment for Meghan’s special day.
Similarly, King Charles and Queen Camilla also extended their birthday wishes to Meghan, posting a photo from her appearance at a service of Thanksgiving during Queen Elizabeth’s platinum Jubilee celebrations. The caption read, “Happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” accompanied by a red balloon emoji.
However, tensions between Harry and Meghan and the royal family escalated following the Queen’s passing in September 2022. The release of their tell-all Netflix docuseries in December of the same year, as well as Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir titled “Spare” set to be released in 2023, further strained the already fragile relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
