Reports indicate that a tragic mass shooting took place in Philadelphia on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of at least two individuals and injuries to eight others from gunfire.

Among the victims are two juveniles, although their exact ages have not been disclosed yet.

The incident occurred at Fairmount Park around 10:30 p.m. near Lemon Hill Drive and Poplar Drive. FOX 29 Philadelphia

According to witnesses, the shooting took place during a cookout in the park, where a large crowd had gathered.

Witnesses described the incident as a drive-by shooting, causing chaos and panic among the attendees. Some individuals were reportedly hit by the gunfire, resulting in injuries.

Additional chaos ensued in the aftermath of the shooting, with one victim being struck by a car while trying to flee the scene.

Memorial Day activities at Fairmount Park were disrupted by the shooting, prompting police to close down the park for further investigation.

As of now, Philadelphia police have not provided any official statements regarding the incident.
