2:35 PM PT — Following the jury’s decision, Metro Boomin‘s attorney, Lawrence C. Hinkle II from Sanders Roberts LLP, expressed profound appreciation for the outcome, stating, “The accusations against Mr. Wayne were baseless and entirely false. He has faced significant distress from these claims, and today’s ruling validates his position — that the plaintiff’s assertions are utterly fabricated.” Mr. Hinkle was joined by fellow Sanders Roberts attorneys Justin H. Sanders and Bobby D. Daniels.
UPDATE
Metro reiterated his stance, stating, “Never in a million years would I commit such a heinous act,” and criticized the plaintiff’s legal representation as “janky lawyers” who would take on such a dubious case.
Metro Boomin has been found not liable regarding civil allegations made by Vanessa LeMaistre, who claimed that the renowned producer drugged and assaulted her during a recording session in 2016. The jury deliberated for three days following testimonies from both Metro and Vanessa.
Vanessa alleged that she sought solace in a platonic relationship after a personal tragedy but claimed she blacked out from Xanax and alcohol in September 2016, only to awaken to an act of aggression from Metro.
She testified that during a 2024 Ayahuasca ceremony in Peru, she “realized” she had been assaulted and penned her thoughts in a note. Meanwhile, Metro’s defense maintained that the case was merely an attempt to extort money.
Vanessa sought damages exceeding $3 million, while Metro countered that he had never been informed of her claims until nearly a decade later, asserting that their encounters were consensual.
Metro also denounced any implication that he boasted about the alleged assault in his 2017 track “Rap Saved Me” from the album “Without Warning,” released in collaboration with 21 Savage and Offset.
Young Thug attended the trial to lend support to Metro, a gesture presumably aimed at reciprocating assistance from Metro during Young Thug’s own legal challenges.
