Paris-based MIAM Animation is excited to announce the return of their beloved preschool series, “Edmond and Lucy,” for a second season. The first season of the show was a hit, with distribution in over 50 countries. The upcoming season will consist of 26 episodes, each running for 12 minutes.
Based on the popular books by Astrid Desbordes and Marc Boutavant, published by Nathan, “Edmond and Lucy” follows the charming adventures of Edmond the squirrel and Lucy the bear cub, who reside in a majestic tree in a vast forest. The series is a delightful blend of humor, nature, and friendship, with a strong emphasis on ecological values and digital innovation.
Valérie Expert, CEO and producer at MIAM Animation, expressed her joy at the renewal of the series, stating, “We’re thrilled to announce a second season of ‘Edmond and Lucy.’ The success of the first season demonstrated the show’s universal appeal to families worldwide. We are proud to continue sharing stories that promote curiosity and respect for nature.”
The new season is a collaboration with France Télévisions, with support from the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Département de la Charente. In addition to the second season, MIAM Animation is also working on a feature film and a digital platform to further enhance the “Edmond and Lucy” experience beyond television.
The animation for Season 2 is being produced at MIAM’s studio in Angoulême, solidifying the region’s reputation as a center for animation excellence. Fans can look forward to the premiere of Season 2 of “Edmond and Lucy” later this year.
