Michael Cohen and President Donald Trump have reportedly mended their private rift and are now set to reconcile publicly.

The president is slated for a phone interview on Thursday with Cohen on the New York City radio show that Cohen, once Trump’s lawyer and “fixer,” began hosting last month.

In a pre-broadcast interview, Cohen shared that he and Trump have privately met three times, resolving their past public disagreements from the president’s first term.

“I recommend tuning in to the show. You might find it quite intriguing,” Cohen stated to POLITICO.

Cohen, who shifted from being a staunch Trump supporter to a vocal critic, expressed uncertainty about whether the interview will touch on presidential clemency for his three-year prison sentence.

He is also unsure whether he will pursue clemency from Trump.

“We’ll see,” Cohen remarked. “Will I make that request in the future? I don’t know. Maybe, maybe not.”

It is notable that Cohen is even contemplating asking Trump for a pardon.

Cohen was a key witness in the 2024 New York prosecutors’ hush money case against Trump, where the candidate became the first former president to be convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal an affair with Stormy Daniels, a former porn star.

Initially, Cohen testified about his deceitful actions for Trump during his time at the Trump Organization but later turned against him. He told POLITICO in an April 2024 interview that the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was “grotesque” and foresaw “there will never be another election again in America” if Trump was reelected.

Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018 for charges related to hush money payments to cover up his boss’s affair with a porn star.

He mentioned having submitted pardon requests to the administrations of former President Joe Biden and Trump, but he does not see clemency, which would restore his law license, as crucial to his current life.

“I’m turning 60 next week. Am I going to start practicing law again?” he asked. “What has the loss of my law license actually stopped me from doing? Though I feel entitled to it, that’s another story entirely.”

Thursday’s interview signifies Cohen’s prolonged efforts to regain Trump’s favor. He disclosed to a New York radio station this summer that they began reconciling through a text exchange.

Hinting at the interview, Cohen said listeners will be “interested to hear two people who were friends for 15 years and haven’t spoken publicly in eight years” discuss their shared history. “What could they talk about?” he pondered.
