Emerson to Join Cast of CBS’ “Elsbeth” in Recurring Role
In a surprising turn of events, Emmy-winning actor Michael Emerson, known for his roles in “Lost” and “Person of Interest,” is set to join the cast of CBS’ “Elsbeth” in a recurring role. Emerson, who is also the husband of “Elsbeth” star Carrie Preston, will make his debut on the show in the upcoming season.
The announcement was originally planned to be made during the “Elsbeth” panel at New York Comic-Con, moderated by series guest star Laura Benanti. Emerson’s character, Judge Milton Crawford, is described as a haughty and soft-spoken man from an old New England family of public servants, providing a perfect foil to Preston’s character, Elsbeth Tascioni.
This casting decision not only brings a dynamic new character to the show but also adds a personal touch with Emerson and Preston working together on-screen once again. The connection between the two actors extends beyond “Elsbeth,” as Emerson most recently starred in the series “Evil,” created by Robert and Michelle King, who are also behind “Elsbeth.”
At the New York Comic-Con panel, fans were treated to a sneak peek of the upcoming Halloween episode and a lively discussion with the show’s creators and cast members. Emerson surprised the audience by joining Preston and the rest of the panel on stage to share the news of his new role.
“Elsbeth” follows the adventures of Elsbeth Tascioni, an unconventional consent decree attorney working with the NYPD to solve high-profile murder cases. Alongside Preston, the show stars Wendell Pierce as Captain Wagner and Carra Patterson as Officer Kaya Blanke.
Emerson’s impressive resume includes Emmy-winning performances in “The Practice” and “Lost,” as well as roles in “Evil,” “The Name of the Rose,” and various guest appearances on popular TV shows. His addition to the “Elsbeth” cast promises to bring a new level of intrigue and drama to the series.
Executive produced by Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, and others, “Elsbeth” is a must-watch series that continues to captivate audiences with its unique storytelling and talented cast. Stay tuned for Emerson’s debut on the show in the upcoming season.
