Miguel Cabrera‘s wife has officially filed for divorce from the MLB star, closing a chapter that began over eight years ago.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Rosangel Cabrera submitted the divorce papers on May 14, marking her second attempt at ending the marriage since 2017.
The divorce was finalized by a judge on June 18 after Miguel Cabrera signed off on the split, acknowledging that the marriage was irretrievably broken.
Rosangel had initially filed for divorce in March 2017 but withdrew the petition shortly after. This time, she is seeking to finalize the marital settlement and postnuptial agreements made in 2017.
The reason behind Rosangel’s decision to proceed with the divorce this time was not disclosed in the documents.
The couple, who got married in Venezuela in 2002, had been together for more than two decades before the divorce was finalized.
We have reached out to Rosangel’s attorney for comments but have not received a response yet.
