The latest addition to the “Blue Bloods” universe, “Boston Blue,” will feature a new face in the Reagan family. Mika Amonsen has joined the cast as the youngest son of Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg. In this new series, Sean, portrayed by Andrew Terraciano in “Blue Bloods,” has relocated to Boston to start a new chapter as a patrolman in the Boston PD. Despite following in his family’s law enforcement legacy, Sean wanted to forge his own path by joining a department outside of his hometown. This decision leads to a deeper connection between father and son as Danny decides to stay in Boston.
Amonsen, known for her roles in “Reacher” and Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving,” is set to bring a fresh perspective to the series. Alongside Wahlberg, the cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Isaiah Silver, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters.
The show, produced by CBS Studios in association with JBTV, is scheduled to premiere this fall on CBS, airing on Fridays at 10 p.m. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis will serve as showrunners and executive producers, with Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg also on board as executive producers.
