Zeam, a popular streaming platform, is set to launch a new original content slate with a live Thanksgiving Day telecast featuring comedians taking on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The special, titled “Friendzgiving — A Version of the Parade,” will air from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET and will include coverage of the parade route by Dale Badway, host of Zeam’s “Laughing Boy Live” series. Additionally, the four hosts will try their hand at preparing a holiday dinner together while on the road as touring comedians.
This new offering is part of Zeam’s initiative to showcase its hyper-local streaming platform by creating original content that highlights its ability to host live streams from various locations across the U.S. In a similar vein, Zeam recently sent comedians Young and Bret Ernst on a five-day live stream event as they traveled from venue to venue.
Zeam has a production facility based in Times Square, New York, which has been instrumental in producing content from comedians and touring performers. The platform has also enlisted veteran actor and producer Stamos as its chief innovation officer. Stamos is collaborating with Zeam CEO Jack Perry and leveraging his industry connections in comedy, TV, and music to explore new possibilities for the platform.
Perry founded Zeam in 2009 under the name Syncbak, initially focusing on live stream technology and back-end support for major media and entertainment companies. The platform’s clients include Paramount, Apple TV, Hulu, Amazon, NFL, Roku, and numerous local broadcast TV stations, offering viewers access to live streams of local newscasts nationwide. In 2024, Syncbak underwent rebranding to become Zeam.
“The future of entertainment is a living process, not a product or rebellion, but renewal,” says Perry. With the upcoming production of “Friendzgiving — A Version of the Parade,” Zeam aims to entertain viewers while showcasing the power of live streaming in real time. This approach emphasizes authenticity over polish or pretense, reflecting Zeam’s commitment to delivering engaging content to its audience.
