An Israeli locksmith was tragically shot and killed by a client in Tennessee last week, sparking concerns of terrorism within the local Jewish community following the mysterious disappearance of an Israeli rabbi in the United Arab Emirates.
Aviv Brock, an Israeli national residing in Memphis and working as a locksmith, was fatally shot while responding to a client’s call, as reported by The Jerusalem Post.
Upon arriving at the client’s location for work, Brock became unreachable for two hours. A friend went to search for him and discovered him shot outside his car, according to Israel National News.
The assailant not only shot Brock but also stole his work equipment and left him to perish at the scene, the news outlet detailed.
Authorities are currently investigating the murder and have not ruled out a potential terror motive behind the killing, as per The Jerusalem Post.
Memphis Police are actively searching for possible suspects, with no arrests made in connection to the murder as of Sunday morning, according to Israel National News.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry has acknowledged the incident and is closely examining the case details.
Brock’s family is currently working on repatriating his body to Israel for burial.
The Memphis Police Department was unable to provide further information on the case to The Post as of Sunday.
News of Brock’s tragic death follows Israel’s investigation into the disappearance of an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi in the United Arab Emirates, amid concerns that he may have been kidnapped or killed by an Iran-linked terrorist group.
