A manhunt is currently underway for a murder suspect who was mistakenly released from a California jail last week, according to authorities. The U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement are actively searching for 20-year-old Isaiah Jamon Andrews from Kent, Washington. Andrews, who was released from Martinez Detention Facility, was being held on various charges including a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento and an out-of-state arrest warrant for homicide.

The Contra Costa County sheriff’s office disclosed the accidental release and urged anyone with information to contact them immediately. Andrews was connected to a fatal shooting in Seattle and was supposed to be extradited to Washington for further investigation. However, his release has led to a search effort to locate him.

Erroneous inmate releases are unfortunately not uncommon occurrences in the criminal justice system. Similar incidents have been reported in other states, including Florida, Texas, Oregon, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Authorities are working diligently to rectify these mistakes and ensure public safety.
