Morrissey’s recent cancellation of his entire South American tour has left fans concerned about his well-being. The former frontman of The Smiths cited extreme exhaustion and PTSD from a death threat earlier this year as the reasons for axing the shows.

Scheduled to perform in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago, Lima, and Bogotá as part of his Nude tour, Morrissey had to abruptly cancel the concerts due to his deteriorating health. Sources close to the singer revealed that he had been pushing himself to the limit both physically and mentally, leading to fears that he was “at death’s door” if he didn’t take a break.

This isn’t the first time Morrissey has faced health and safety crises. In September, he canceled shows in Connecticut and Boston after a credible threat was made against his life. The singer has also faced backlash over his support for Israel, leading to the cancellation of shows in Turkey and Sweden.

The recent cancellations in South America follow a pattern of strain and mental toll on Morrissey, culminating in his hospitalization for a severe sinus infection that forced the cancellation of several California dates. Despite his determination to continue touring, friends and collaborators are worried about his well-being.

At 66 years old, Morrissey continues to tour relentlessly, but the toll on his body and mind is becoming increasingly evident. The music industry insider expressed concerns that the singer is at a breaking point and may not be able to sustain his current pace for much longer.

As fans eagerly await Morrissey’s return to the stage, it’s essential for the singer to prioritize his health and well-being to ensure a long and successful career in the music industry.
