“Heated Rivalry” Renewed for Season 2

The highly anticipated romantic drama series, “Heated Rivalry,” has been officially renewed for a second season. Created by Jacob Tierney, the show first premiered on Crave, the Canadian streaming service owned by Bell Media, and also made its debut on HBO Max in the United States. HBO Max will continue to license the series for its second season, maintaining its popularity among viewers.

Based on the popular “Game Changers” book series by Rachel Reid, “Heated Rivalry” follows the story of Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (portrayed by Connor Storrie), two rising stars in Major League Hockey. Their relationship is characterized by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic attraction that neither fully understands. What starts as a secret romance between two rookie players evolves into an emotional journey of love, denial, and self-discovery over the span of eight years. As they chase success on the ice, Shane and Ilya must navigate their feelings off the rink, torn between their passion for the sport and the undeniable power of real love. The stellar cast also includes François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nélisse, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova.

The first season of “Heated Rivalry” premiered on Nov. 28 with two episodes, followed by weekly releases leading up to the Season 1 finale on Dec. 26. Fans can expect more gripping drama and heartfelt moments in the upcoming season.

Jacob Tierney takes on the roles of writer, director, and executive producer for the series, alongside Brendan Brady. Rachel Reid serves as a consulting producer, while Lori Fischburg is a producer. The show is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment in association with Crave, with international distribution handled by Sphere Abacus, a company in which Bell Media recently acquired a majority stake.
