Authorities in upstate New York are delving into a disturbing case after two roosters and a white dove were discovered, all decapitated and bled out, raising suspicions of potential ritualistic sacrifices. This unsettling find, located near Lake Carmel in Putnam County on Friday, has heightened concerns among residents about the possibility of a cult operating in their area.
âThe location where this bag was discovered is just a short distance from where other bags containing mutilated animals have been located in recent months, likely a result of ritualistic actions,â the Putnam County SPCA stated in a recent Facebook update.
According to officials, the two roosters were stuffed into a plastic bag, found close to where the dove was discovered in a wooded area along Holland Drive near the lake in Kent.
This year, authorities have identified 10 similar instances in the vicinity, including an event in April when two dismembered birds were discarded in a garbage bag and left nearby, as reported by News12.

The birds were discovered shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and reports state they were completely drained of blood.
âItâs extremely shocking,â stated a local resident to the outlet.
Animal sacrifices are often associated with unusual rituals conducted by practitioners of voodoo, Santeria, and other similar dark traditions.
However, proving these theories can be challenging unless the perpetrators are caught in the act.
âAt that moment of dumping, the only crime occurring is a town ordinance violation involving illegal dumping, as we cannot demonstrate wrongdoing concerning the animals at that point,â explained Chief Ken Ross, the law enforcement head at the SPCA, to News12.
âIt would be great to have prior knowledge about these acts to investigate efficiently.â
