A retired NASA astronaut has shared an intriguing encounter he had while flying his private plane in Texas last summer. Leroy Chiao, who has flown multiple Space Shuttle missions and commanded Expedition 10, recounted coming close to colliding with two mysterious metallic orbs during his flight.
Chiao described the orbs as large, spherical, and metallic, each about three feet in diameter. They zoomed past his airplane just twenty feet away, catching him by surprise. Despite the potential danger, Chiao considered it lucky that a collision did not occur.
The orbs did not show up on his plane’s radar, nor were they detected by air traffic control. Chiao speculated that they could be part of a military drone program, although he couldn’t say for certain.
Reflecting on the incident, Chiao emphasized the need for more awareness and understanding of such phenomena, especially in light of recent reports of mysterious drones in New Jersey and New York. He expressed disbelief that the government was unaware of these activities in the region.
Reports of high-performance drones flying over New Jersey have been circulating since November, with sightings extending to Staten Island. In one instance, a news helicopter inadvertently captured footage of an orb-like object speeding over the Hudson River, possibly originating from New Jersey.
Last year, the Pentagon released radar footage showing an unidentified orb navigating through military airspace, highlighting the ongoing mystery surrounding these aerial anomalies.
