Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown expressed his frustration after the Beverly Hills police shut down his NBA All-Star Weekend event on Saturday night. He took to social media to criticize the police and the city for their actions.

“Beverly Hills is so trash I’m offended had a great panel about the future of culture with great guest people worked hard for this how dare y’all,” Brown posted on X.

During an encounter with a Beverly Hills cop, Brown questioned the reason behind shutting down the event, feeling targeted by the authorities.

“Who’s shutting this down?” demanded Brown.

“That’s above my pay grade,” responded the officer, indicating it was the city’s decision.

In a video, Brown explained that the event was a panel discussion, not a party, and that it was only 7 p.m. when the shutdown occurred.

“We are just trying to have an event, a panel talking about culture, talking about the future, talking about leadership. I feel like we’re being targeted,” expressed the NBA star.

The incident ended with a man shouting into a microphone, “You ain’t got the answers.”

Brown, known for his nonprofit organization Boston XChange, which focuses on building generational wealth and fostering cultural innovation in underserved communities, highlighted the importance of the event.

It remains unclear if the event was organized by Brown’s organization. Efforts to reach the Beverly Hills Police Department for comments have been redirected to the code enforcement department.
