NBC has made some significant scheduling changes for its fall lineup, including bringing back “Law & Order: Organized Crime” and moving “The Hunting Party” to midseason. The network recently announced the premiere dates for its full fall schedule, with several notable adjustments.
Originally, the second season of “The Hunting Party” was set to air on Thursday nights following new episodes of “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU.” However, the sophomore season will now be held until after January.
In its place, NBC will air a three-hour “Law & Order” block on Thursdays starting on September 25. Following “Law & Order” and “SVU,” the fifth season of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” will be re-aired at 10 p.m. ET. This season originally premiered on Peacock in April before moving to NBC.
There is also a possibility that “The Hunting Party” will debut in February 2026 to coincide with NBC’s busy sports schedule that month, which includes events like the Super Bowl, the NBA All-Star game, and Olympics coverage. Additionally, the show will be relocating from Canada to New York for its second season.
Fans of the “One Chicago” lineup will be pleased to know that it returns on Wednesday, October 1, starting with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m., followed by “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD.”
In terms of comedy, NBC has made changes to its lineup as well. Returning comedies “St. Denis Medical” and “Happy’s Place” will now air back-to-back new episodes starting on Monday, November 3, and Friday, November 7, respectively. The network also has two new comedies, “Stumble” and “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” waiting in the wings for potential fall debuts.
Other highlights of the fall schedule include the return of the NBA on NBC on October 21, the second season of “Brilliant Minds” on September 22, and the premiere of the new unscripted series “On Brand with Jimmy Fallon” on September 30.
Additionally, NBC will air a two-hour “Wicked” special on Thursday, November 6, ahead of the film “Wicked: For Good.”
