NC man charged with kidnap, rape after girl missing a year found at his home

A 15-year-old girl who had been missing for a year was discovered nearly 500 miles away from her home, leading to the arrest of a 32-year-old man on charges of kidnapping and rape. The teenager, who was initially reported as a runaway from Reading, Pennsylvania, last June, was found in High Point, North Carolina, at the residence of Joseph A. Rossomando following a tip received by the police.

Rossomando was found with child sexual abuse material after a search of his home and seizure of electronic devices. He now faces multiple charges, including seven counts of statutory sex offense with a child less than 15, seven counts of statutory rape of a child less than 15, and other felony charges related to trafficking, sexual servitude, exploitation, statutory rape, and kidnapping. He is currently being held at the Guilford County Jail without bond.

The High Point police have confirmed that the girl is safe and receiving support services.
