Top executives from the Asia-Pacific divisions of Netflix, Prime Video, Walt Disney, and Warner Bros. Discovery are set to take the stage together at APOS 2026, scheduled for June 16-18 in Bali.
These four leaders, including Netflix’s VP of content for APAC excluding India, Minyoung Kim; Prime Video’s APAC and ANZ VP, Gaurav Gandhi; Disney’s Asia Pacific direct-to-consumer senior VP, Tony Zameczkowski; and WBD’s APAC president, James Gibbons, will participate in a panel discussion titled “Asia’s Streaming Advantage: Growth, Profitability and What’s Next.” This session is the highlight of the first afternoon of the event.
Organized by Media Partners Asia, the summit will kick off on June 16 with a welcome reception hosted by Netflix. Prior to this, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an AVIA Policy Roundtable, an AVIA State of Piracy Roundtable, and an exclusive APOS CEO Forum. The main conference proceedings are set for June 17-18.
Vivek Couto, CEO and executive director of Media Partners Asia, will open the first day with a keynote titled “Asia Reset: Engagement, Economics & Value Creation.” The day will continue with a fireside chat featuring TWG Global co-chairman Thomas Tull on the intelligent enterprise. Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini will then discuss the creation of a global anime fandom, followed by JioStar entertainment CEO Kevin Vaz addressing the topic of scalability.
The theme of the microdrama economy will run throughout both days. On the first day, ReelShort CEO Joey Jia will lead a fireside chat titled “Micro Dramas, Mega Economics.” The second day will begin with panels on “Building the Vertical Stack in Asia” featuring COL Group International, ROCK Networks, and Refinery Media, and “Inside the Micro-Drama Pipeline” with RJ RisingJoy co-founder and CEO Cassandra Yang, and Bamboo Network founder and CEO Dabin Chung. Story TV founder and CEO Saurabh Pandey will later discuss India’s microdrama surge in a dedicated session.
Sports will be a key focus on day one, with JioStar sports and live experiences CEO Ishan Chatterjee exploring sports as a platform for fandom, AI, and commerce. This will be followed by presentations from ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta on cricket’s global reach and La Liga president Javier Tebas on fan engagement and enforcement. Prime Video’s panel, with Gandhi, Shilangi Mukherji of Prime Video India, and Keisuke Oishi, country manager for Prime Video Japan, will explore the streamer’s influence in the region.
TikTok will host a panel titled “From Scroll to Success: How TikTok Turns Creativity into Growth,” featuring MD of product partnerships Isaac Bess with Indonesian creators Christie Basil and Kenneth Cia, delving into the creator economy and commerce. YouTube India country MD Gunjan Soni will follow with a discussion on India’s booming video scene.
The topic of AI will be a prominent feature across both afternoons. A panel titled “The New Creative Pipeline: AI, IP & Human Craft” will include actor-director Andy Serkis, Google VP of entertainment content and platforms Jon Zepp, and director Josh Nelson Youssef. On the second day, sessions will address GenAI in the content pipeline, led by JioStar’s Stephan Bugaj and FBRC.ai’s Todd Terrazas, and cover AI-native filmmaking and localization, featuring experts like Utopai Studios co-founder Cecilia Shen and Panjaya CEO Guy Piekarz.
Day two will also spotlight Indonesia, with Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno discussing new incentives for filmmakers and creators. A session on MNC Group’s streaming strategy will feature co-CEO Angela Tanoesoedibjo and V+Short CEO Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo, with separate talks by Vidio CEO Sutanto Hartono and MD Entertainment CEO Manoj Punjabi.
The afternoon sessions will focus on Southeast Asian content, featuring a discussion with Rein Entertainment co-founder Lino Cayetano from the Philippines and a Thai content panel titled “Made in Thailand,” including TrueVisions NOW’s Deedee Pholthaweechai, Chris Lowenstein, and Banjong Pisanthanakun. DIVE Studios CEO Brian Nam will conclude with a session on building global fandoms from a K-pop base.
Investment in the age of AI will be debated in a panel on day one with speakers like ING’s Gautam Saxena and Elysian Park Ventures’ Nikhil Bahel. On day two, piracy enforcement will be tackled by MPA executive VP Larissa Knapp, MPA live content protection director Guillermo Rodriguez, beIN Asia Pacific MD Mike Kerr, and UEFA expert Diego Dabrio in a session titled “The Fight For Value: A Global Frontline On Piracy.”
