Netflix Announces New Comedy Series “Bad Thoughts” Starring Tom Segura
Netflix has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming dark comedy series, “Bad Thoughts,” starring renowned stand-up comedian Tom Segura. The series is set to premiere on May 13 and promises to deliver a unique blend of twisted humor and big laughs.
Segura, who not only stars in the series but also serves as creator, director, and executive producer, gave audiences a sneak peek of “Bad Thoughts” during his recent sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. With influences from “Black Mirror” and “The Twilight Zone,” the six-episode series is sure to captivate viewers with its darkly comedic storytelling.
The show is helmed by directors Rami Hachache, Jeremy Konner, and Segura himself. Konner, known for his work on “Drunk History,” serves as head writer for the series, bringing his comedic expertise to the table.
Produced under Segura’s Your Mom’s House banner, “Bad Thoughts” features a talented team including Ryan Hall, Molly Mandel, Craig Gerara, and Matthew Zinman. Segura’s wife, Christina Pazsitzky, also makes an appearance in the teaser, adding to the show’s comedic charm.
Netflix has confirmed that “Bad Thoughts” will be submitted for consideration in the outstanding short-form comedy, drama, or variety series category at the Emmys. The streaming platform has had previous success in this category, winning with “I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson” in 2023.
Described as a series of vignettes narrated by Segura, “Bad Thoughts” promises to showcase his unique comedic sensibility in a hilariously disturbing way. Drawing inspiration from his stand-up comedy, each episode will unfold in a manner that only Segura could imagine.
As a seasoned comedian, Segura has released multiple stand-up specials on Netflix and completed successful tours. His comedic talents extend beyond the stage, as seen in his bestselling essay collection and popular podcast, “2 Bears 1 Cave,” with Bert Kreischer.
Don’t miss the first teaser trailer for “Bad Thoughts” and mark your calendars for May 13 to experience Tom Segura’s dark and twisted comedy series on Netflix.
