Netflix is set to bring a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice to the small screen, with a six-episode series in the works. The script for the series will be penned by Dolly Alderton, a well-known British author, screenwriter, and columnist for The Sunday Times. Directing the show will be Euros Lyn, known for his work on popular series like Doctor Who, Black Mirror, Sherlock, His Dark Materials, and more.

The cast for the series includes Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, and Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet. Lowden, known for his role in the espionage series Slow Horses, will step into the iconic shoes of Mr. Darcy, famously portrayed by Colin Firth in the 1995 TV series. Corrin, with her experience in period dramas like The Crown, will bring a fresh perspective to the character of Elizabeth Bennet.
