The tragic story of Oscar Pistorius, the former Olympic and Paralympic sprint legend convicted of the murder of South African model Reeva Steenkamp, continues to unfold with a chilling warning from Reeva’s mother, June Steenkamp.

In a recent interview with the Sun, June Steenkamp expressed her concerns for Pistorius’ new girlfriend, Rita Greyling. She emphasized that Pistorius still struggles with anger management issues, despite being released on strict parole in January. The convicted killer, now 38, was found guilty of shooting Reeva Steenkamp, his girlfriend at the time, at his South African home on Valentine’s Day in 2013.

Reports have surfaced indicating that Pistorius has found love again with Rita Greyling, a 33-year-old business management consultant from Mpumalanga. While details of their relationship remain private, sources close to the couple have confirmed their romantic involvement.

June Steenkamp, who founded the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation Against The Abuse of Women and Children, has been vocal about her belief that Pistorius is still a danger to women. She revealed that she and her husband, Barry, had intervened to prevent Pistorius’ release on parole multiple times due to concerns about his potential threat.

Despite Pistorius’ claims that he mistakenly shot Reeva through a bathroom door, the Steenkamp family maintains that Reeva was intentionally killed in a fit of rage. Pistorius was initially sentenced to five years in jail for culpable homicide, but a successful appeal by prosecutors led to a resentencing of 13 years and five months.

Since his release, Pistorius has been living a low-key life at his uncle’s secure compound in Pretoria. He has been making efforts to reintegrate into society while adhering to strict parole conditions, including regular checks for alcohol and drug use and restrictions on his movements and interactions.

The once-celebrated athlete, known for his groundbreaking achievements as a double amputee runner, now leads a secluded life away from the public eye. His physical appearance has changed significantly, with gray hair, weight loss, and a shaved beard marking his transformation since his time in prison.

As the story of Oscar Pistorius and the tragic death of Reeva Steenkamp continues to captivate the world, the warning from June Steenkamp serves as a stark reminder of the lingering impact of domestic violence and the importance of recognizing warning signs in relationships.
