Bari Weiss Takes Over CBS News and Plans to Shake Up Morning Talk Shows

Since officially taking over CBS News on October 6, Bari Weiss has wasted no time in making some right-leaning adjustments to the network. One of her latest moves includes the development of a new morning talk show called “The Right View,” which is set to offer a sharp, debate-driven alternative to the current genre.

Internal sources at CBS have revealed that Weiss is on a mission to fill a void she believes exists in morning talk shows. “The Right View” is said to be a response to what she perceives as a lack of diverse voices engaging in real conversations without the chaos and shouting matches often seen on similar programs like The View.

A CBS insider shared with Hollywood reporter Rob Shuter that Weiss’s motivation for creating “The Right View” is personal. “Bari never let go of the fact that The View passed on her. Now she’s creating the show she thinks they should have hired her to help reinvent,” the source said.

While Weiss was once considered as a potential replacement for Meghan McCain on The View, the opportunity didn’t materialize. With her new position at CBS, Weiss is now taking matters into her own hands by greenlighting development meetings for a talk show that she envisions as a platform for intelligent debate.

According to sources close to Weiss, she is determined to offer viewers a refreshing alternative to what she refers to as “toxic television.” Her vision for “The Right View” is to provide a space for thoughtful discussions that challenge perspectives without resorting to the drama and sensationalism often associated with daytime talk shows.

As Weiss continues to make her mark on CBS News, the development of “The Right View” signals a new era for morning talk shows on the network. With a focus on smart debate and diverse voices, Weiss is poised to shake up the traditional format and offer viewers a fresh perspective on current events and hot topics.
