Exciting new details have emerged about Skybound Entertainment’s forthcoming video game “Invincible VS,” which now includes Cecil Stedman, a beloved figure from Robert Kirkman’s comics and the “Invincible” series on Amazon. He will be a part of the player roster in this 3v3 tag fighting game.

Currently, “Invincible VS” has confirmed eight fighters: Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Bulletproof, Thula, Rex Splode, Battle Beast, Omni-Man, and Cecil.

In Skybound Entertainment and Quarter Up’s description, it states, “Cecil has consistently been a fan favorite in the ‘Invincible’ comics and series. Frequently heard in Mark’s earpiece, Cecil now joins the fray in Invincible VS armed with specialized weapons like plasma pistols, grenade launchers, and other projectiles to maintain a strategic distance from opponents. His gameplay focuses on ranged combat and tactical maneuvers that enable him to evade enemies while orchestrating counterattacks. Furthermore, Cecil can call upon an unlimited number of Reanimen to assist him; equipped with The Hammer—a massive orbital laser—he becomes a formidable presence on the battlefield.”

Moreover, the developers of “Invincible VS” alongside Kirkman shared fresh insights about the game’s story mode, characterized as “akin to a special extended episode of the show, featuring all announced playable characters and hinting at the introduction of a brand-new character set to appear for the first time in the Invincible Universe.”

“I’m deeply involved in this game, but the incredible aspects of this team often amaze me with their attention to detail and balance,” Kirkman noted in a Sept. 30 chat with Variety about the Cecil character announcement. “This project is being crafted by true fans of the ‘Invincible’ series and comics, to the degree that they often jog my memory about things I’ve forgotten, which is a bit embarrassing but true.”

“Invincible VS” is expected to release in 2026 for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
