Authorities shared a detailed look at two suspects linked to the assault of a couple during an illegal car gathering in Queens. The incident occurred over the weekend in Malba, where a group of unruly drivers took over a street corner in a typically quiet neighborhood.
The NYPD released images of the suspects, described as males aged between 18 and 24, who were part of the group that attacked a man and his wife. One suspect was seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and pants, while the other sported a dark-colored hat and sweatshirt.
Following the altercation, the suspects fled in a white Chevy Silverado heading southbound on the Whitestone Expressway, as per police reports.
Footage from the illegal gathering captures a group of individuals assaulting Blake Ferrer after he confronted them about being on his property. The attackers also targeted his wife and set fire to a parked private security vehicle.
Ferrer, who sustained broken bones, was transported to York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital for treatment.
He expressed his intent to press charges once the suspects are apprehended, emphasizing the importance of preventing similar incidents in the future.
“Ultimately, my goal is to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else,” Ferrer stated. “Hopefully, it serves as a deterrent to any group of individuals considering similar actions in any neighborhood.”
Police officials announced plans to increase patrols in the Malba area to prevent future occurrences of such incidents.
