NexMetals Mining Corp. (NASDAQ:NEXM) has had a challenging year as one of the worst-performing commodity stocks in 2026. However, recent drilling results at the Selebi Main deposit in Botswana have provided a glimmer of hope for the company.

On March 26, 2026, NexMetals announced that drill hole SMD-26-209 at the Selebi Main deposit intersected 10.50 meters of blebby, stringer, and massive sulphides, including 3.05 meters and 5.95 meters of massive sulphides. This drilling is part of the company’s ongoing surface drilling program targeting the Flexure Zone, an area outside the 2024 mineral resource estimate.

The visual results from hole SMD-26-209 were consistent with previous drilling results from hole SMD-25-205, which returned 11.05 meters grading 7.31% copper equivalent. The company believes that the latest intercept supports its interpretation that the Flexure Zone extends down-dip and down-plunge from Selebi Main.

CEO Sean Whiteford expressed optimism about the results, noting that the thick intervals of massive sulphide mineralization beyond the current mineral resource footprint are promising. He also mentioned that the step-out drilling in the Flexure Zone is validating the company’s borehole electromagnetic targeting.

NexMetals Mining Corp. is a mineral exploration and development company focused on redeveloping the Selebi and Selkirk copper-nickel-cobalt-platinum group element mines in Botswana. While the company has faced challenges in 2026, the recent drilling results offer hope for its future prospects.
