The Cleveland Browns have made an interesting decision for their Week 12 game against the Las Vegas Raiders by naming Shedeur Sanders as their starting quarterback. This move comes as Dillon Gabriel remains in concussion protocol, according to coach Kevin Stefanski’s announcement during a media availability session on Wednesday.

Stefanski stated, “Shedeur is gonna start at quarterback. Dillon is still in the concussion protocol. He is improving. But obviously, we gotta put a plan together for all of our players, all of our offense, our defense, our special teams, plan of attack and give our guys a chance to give them down. So that’s where we’re getting started.”

Sanders had a tough debut when he came in for Gabriel against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. He struggled, completing only 4 of 16 passes for 48 yards with an interception and getting sacked twice. Reflecting on his performance, Sanders admitted, “I don’t think I played good. I don’t think I played good — at all. I think it’s a lot of things we need to look at during the week and go and just get comfortable.”

Despite his rocky start, Sanders has garnered support from fans who see him as the future quarterback of the team. In his media appearance, Sanders expressed his determination to meet the high expectations placed on him. He stated, “I know our fans have a lot of expectations and hope. And I would be doing a disservice to myself and a disservice to the organization if I didn’t feel like I am the guy. I did everything I need to. I’m doing everything I need to prepare to be the best version of myself as possible.”

He added, “With the circumstances, everything got to be sped up and that’s great. I like pressure in life. I’m just excited for everything. So, I feel like I’m the guy. I know I’m the guy, but you just have to be able to see.”

Sanders now has the opportunity to showcase his skills against the Raiders and potentially solidify his place as a starting quarterback. The game could be a defining moment for him and a chance to win over the fans.

The news of Sanders’ start has sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans are optimistic about his potential, others are skeptical about his ability to lead the team to victory. It remains to be seen how Sanders will perform in his first NFL start and whether he can live up to the expectations set for him.

In conclusion, Shedeur Sanders’ debut as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns against the Las Vegas Raiders is a significant moment for the young player. With the support of fans and the pressure to prove himself, Sanders has the opportunity to make a name for himself in the NFL. Let’s watch closely as he takes the field and see how he handles the challenge ahead.
