Kaleb Johnson’s NFL journey started off on a rocky path with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Week 2’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, the rookie made a crucial mistake during a kickoff play that resulted in a free touchdown for the opposing team. As a consequence, Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin announced that Johnson would be demoted from kickoff duties.

But it seems like the changes don’t stop there for Johnson. The Steelers decided to elevate Trey Sermon from the practice squad to be active in the upcoming game against the New England Patriots. This move indicates that Johnson may be made inactive for the game, sparking speculation among NFL fans about the rookie’s future with the team.

While it’s unlikely that the Steelers would release a draft pick after just two games, the elevation of Sermon suggests that Johnson’s mistake might have significant consequences for his playing time. Fans took to social media to express their opinions, with some labeling Johnson as a “bust” and criticizing the Steelers’ lack of player development.

In response to questions about Johnson’s future role, Coach Tomlin stated that the rookie would not have an immediate opportunity to return kicks but left the door open for him to redeem himself. Tomlin emphasized the importance of hard work and accountability, hinting that Johnson would need to earn his way back into the team’s plans.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Johnson can bounce back from his early setback and prove his worth to the Steelers. For now, it seems like the rookie will have to work diligently to regain his position and prove his capabilities on the field. Stay tuned for more updates on Kaleb Johnson’s journey with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He also has to work to overcome Tomlin and his staff once again not preparing young guys for the NFL. Who put him back there in the first place and why?
