Nicole Kidman is staying hopeful amidst her ongoing divorce from Keith Urban.
“No matter how painful or challenging it might seem, there is always a path through the darkness,” the 58-year-old actress shared in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar published on Thursday, October 9. “You can’t numb the feelings; you have to experience them. It may feel unmanageable at times, but if you take it slow and steady — and it might take a lot of time — eventually, things do get better.”
Kidman expressed that one of the greatest aspects of aging is the wealth of experiences and insights it brings.
“With time, you can say, ‘I’ve been through this before; I know how to manage it now,’” she elaborated. “Or, ‘Even if this exact situation is new, I’ve faced something akin to it, and I trust that I’ll navigate through.’”
As she has matured, Kidman has become increasingly open about sharing her life lessons.
“I aspire to convey and share the wisdom I’ve acquired through my diverse experiences. I’ve been through a lot, and I’ve emerged stronger,” she reflected. “I want to impart some of that understanding and insight.”
While she doesn’t intend to dictate others’ actions, Kidman is eager to share her truths.
“People often prefer to follow their own paths, regardless of advice. So, it’s essential to share personal tales, providing insights for others to interpret as they choose,” she remarked. “It’s about my journey and what I’ve gleaned from it.”
On what fuels her motivation, Kidman expressed her gratitude for life itself.
“I cherish being part of this world. I’m thankful for my role as a woman, actress, and producer, both in my career and personal life,” she shared. “Furthermore, my children are my driving force, giving me the purpose to protect and guide them, assuring them there’s always a loving and secure environment for them to flourish in.”
Us Weekly confirmed last month that Kidman and Urban have parted ways after close to 19 years of marriage. Following the announcement of their separation, Kidman filed for divorce, listing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
As noted in legal documents acquired by Us, Kidman also filed a marital dissolution agreement co-signed by Urban. This paperwork also included various documents pertaining to their daughters, Sunday Rose, age 17, and Faith Margaret, age 14, covering a parenting plan, child support, and a “parenting seminar order.”
Just a day prior, Kidman spoke with Vogue. Although the conversation occurred before her separation from Urban was made public, Kidman discussed how she deals with adversity in her life.
“I channel my emotions into my craft. That’s the beauty of my profession,” she explained in the cover story released on Wednesday, October 8. “There’s a venue for processing feelings, discovering truths, and exploration in my work.”
