Fremantle’s Thriller Series “Nightsleeper” Set to Launch in 147 Territories Worldwide
After its successful premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K., Fremantle’s new thriller series “Nightsleeper” is gearing up for its global launch in 147 territories.
Following a flurry of international deals, “Nightsleeper” has been picked up by major broadcasters such as M-Net (Africa), VRT (Belgium), DR (Denmark), SVT (Sweden), and Stan (Australia), among others. The series has already created a buzz with earlier sales to TF1 in France and Stan in Australia.
Starring Alexandra Roach and Joe Cole, “Nightsleeper” is a gripping drama that follows the hacking of a sleeper train en route from Glasgow to London. As a government agency races against time to avert a crisis onboard, the lives of the passengers hang in the balance. Can two strangers, one on the train and one off, collaborate to save the day as the Heart of Britain overnight service hurtles towards a potentially catastrophic end?
Produced by Fremantle’s Euston Films for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, “Nightsleeper” was created and written by BAFTA winner Nick Leather. The series is helmed by directors Jamie Magnus Stone and John Hayes, with Leather serving as executive producer alongside Kate Harwood, Magnus Stone, and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.
Expressing enthusiasm for the series’ expanding reach, Jens Richter, CEO of commercial and international at Fremantle, stated, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with such esteemed global broadcasters to bring ‘Nightsleeper’ to audiences worldwide. With its pulse-pounding action, unexpected twists, and stellar cast led by Joe Cole and Alexandra Roach, the series has garnered praise from critics and viewers alike. We are confident that it will continue to captivate audiences in every market.”
