A shocking incident occurred at the Cohanzick Zoo in New Jersey, where a woman named Zyair Dennis, aged 24, was arrested for trespassing and violating city ordinances after she climbed a fence and stuck her hand inside a Siberian tiger’s enclosure. The incident, which took place on August 18, was captured on video and shared by the Bridgeton Police Department.

In the video, Dennis can be seen approaching the tiger’s enclosure and extending her hand towards the animal. The tiger, in a moment of aggression, lunges towards Dennis, appearing to try to bite her hand. Luckily, Dennis jerks her hand back in time to avoid any serious injury. She then retreats slowly and climbs back over the fence to safety.

This was not the only dangerous encounter Dennis had that day. Police also have video evidence of her attempting a similar stunt in a bear cage adjacent to the tiger enclosure. The authorities were quick to take action and urged anyone with information about Dennis to come forward.

Dennis is now facing charges of defiant trespassing and violating city ordinances. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgeton Municipal Court at a later date. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the boundaries and safety measures put in place at zoos and wildlife parks.

It is crucial to remember that wild animals, no matter how seemingly docile, are still unpredictable and dangerous. Interfering with their enclosures not only puts the individual at risk but also endangers the well-being of the animals. Let this serve as a cautionary tale to always follow the rules and regulations when visiting zoos and wildlife sanctuaries.
