Authorities Closing in on UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s Killer
UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, tragically met his demise on Wednesday, December 4, when he was shot dead in broad daylight outside the New York Hilton Midtown in Manhattan just before the morning rush hour. The incident shocked many, and now authorities are closing in on the killer.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch disclosed that the attacker specifically targeted Thompson. Despite the bustling street and numerous pedestrians passing by, the gunman waited for his intended victim and fired as soon as Thompson approached the hotel.
Surveillance video captured the killer carrying a backpack as he entered a park and exiting without it. New images of the suspect show a smirking young man in a hooded jacket inside a hostel. During his stay, he wore a face mask and was later seen in a nearby housing project before the shooting took place.
