Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has made his predictions for the IPL 2025 playoffs, picking the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) as the finalists. While PBKS secured a top-two finish with a convincing win over the Mumbai Indians, RCB needs to win their final league stage game against the Lucknow Super Giants to confirm their spot in the playoffs.

If RCB fails to win, the Gujarat Titans will finish second, setting up an Eliminator match between RCB and Mumbai Indians for the third and fourth seeds. Uthappa shared his thoughts on the upcoming playoffs on JioStar, expressing his belief in RCB and PBKS making it to the final showdown.

He emphasized the importance of momentum and closing out games effectively, particularly praising PBKS bowler Arshdeep Singh for his potential impact in crucial matches. Both RCB and PBKS have never won an IPL title despite their consistent performances over the years.

Uthappa also commended PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer for his leadership skills, highlighting his success in guiding the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Iyer, who previously led the Kolkata Knight Riders to a title victory, is now aiming to replicate that success with PBKS.

PBKS, having secured a top-two finish, will have two opportunities to advance to the final. They will face either RCB or GT in Qualifier 1, scheduled to take place on Thursday at Mullanpur. With the playoffs heating up, fans can expect intense matches and thrilling performances from these top teams.

In conclusion, Uthappa’s predictions set the stage for an exciting IPL 2025 playoffs, with RCB and PBKS emerging as the frontrunners for the coveted title. As the teams gear up for the knockout stage, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to high-stakes matches and exceptional performances from some of the best players in the league.
