If Chutzpah Were a Person, It Would Be CNN’s Jake Tapper
When one thinks of audacity, the image of Jake Tapper from CNN springs to mind. Recently, he embarked on a promotional tour for his latest book, “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” co-authored with Alex Thompson. The entire affair feels reminiscent of a wolf in a henhouse, raising suspicions that both his media blitz and the long-overdue scrutiny of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities are tinged with ulterior motives.
In an interview shared on the social media platform X, Tapper seemed to unveil these motives. “This applies to Donald Trump, too,” he stated, referring to the opacity surrounding the former president’s health.
And there it is.
Tapper, who has been part of the media’s efforts to obscure Biden’s cognitive decline, is now positioning himself as a champion of transparency. It’s almost comical. This isn’t merely about a historical political scandal in which Biden’s allies and the media misled the public; rather, it’s framed as a cautionary tale for the future!
“Donald Trump has released, like, nothing about his health,” Tapper continued. “And while there aren’t the questions of acuity, there are certainly questions about his health.”
Questions about Trump’s health? One might wonder what these questions are. Anyone outside the echo chamber of establishment media would likely recognize Trump’s remarkable work ethic. The former president seems to accomplish more in a week than Tapper does in a year! Yet here we have Tapper, questioning Trump’s health with an air of superiority.
To maintain his guise of objectivity, Tapper framed his concerns as a constitutional issue. “We can’t have this as a country,” he lamented, suggesting that the power of the executive branch, combined with a weakened legislative branch, is leading us into precarious territory.
Indeed, if the early months of Trump’s presidency taught us anything, it’s that the other branches of government would never dare overstep their constitutional boundaries to interfere with the executive’s legitimate functions. What a quaint notion!
Yet, one cannot deny that Tapper has a point buried beneath the layers of irony. Trump has indeed wielded significant power, and there are valid criticisms regarding the judiciary’s leniency toward him.
What a spectacle Tapper presents.
Very instructive one minute clip:
Jake Tapper says the purpose of his book is to make sure there’s “transparency” with political leaders — then makes it all about Trump and “questions about his health.”
That’s where this is going — media is going to use this book as cover to do… pic.twitter.com/lJpKbjEerw

However, the narrative extends beyond Tapper himself. The establishment media appears to be adopting a posture of retrospective scrutiny regarding their past actions. “We exposed Biden’s mental state after his term. See how transparent we are? This gives us the right to scrutinize Trump while he’s in office,” quipped one user on X, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
I’m starting to get it now.
We outed Biden’s mental state after he served. See how honest we are?
This qualifies us to go after Trump while he is serving. https://t.co/y0ze8klfYx

In conclusion, Tapper’s so-called investigation into the Biden cover-up possesses a surreal quality, akin to the absurdity of Anthony Fauci leading the COVID response. It seems both Tapper and Fauci share a common underlying motive: to undermine Trump.
