A Brooklyn discount store employee was injured while attempting to stop a shoplifting incident on Sunday, resulting in a stabbing.
The 30-year-old victim, who has not been named, was on duty at a Family Dollar located on Flatlands Avenue in East New York at approximately 11:48 a.m. when she was attacked by the suspect, according to police and sources.
She was transported to Brookdale Hospital via ambulance and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

“Due to an earlier incident, we will be closed for the remainder of today,” the notice stated. “We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.”
