A Queens man found himself in hot water on Long Island after falling asleep at the wheel and causing chaos on the road. Jeffrey Cabreja was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department after he was discovered unconscious in a blue 2023 Audi blocking traffic on Green Acres Road in Valley Stream.

When police approached Cabreja to wake him up, he suddenly woke up and stepped on the gas pedal, crashing into a black 2019 Jeep and flipping over in the process. The reckless incident resulted in one officer sustaining a shoulder injury and needing medical attention at a local hospital.

Cabreja, 30, was also taken to the hospital after being extracted from the overturned Audi. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that he did not have permission to drive the vehicle, leading to his arrest on charges of driving while ability impaired, assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and various vehicle and traffic law violations.

The Queens man will have to face arraignment once he has been cleared medically. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the importance of following traffic laws to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
