Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in an attempted sexual assault on a young girl and a separate attack on another teenage girl in Brooklyn that occurred on Friday, as reported by law enforcement officials and various sources.
The alarming series of events began around 1:35 p.m. near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Ditmas Avenue, where a 13-year-old was pursued into her apartment building while on her way home, according to the NYPD.
Once inside, the girl was reportedly grabbed by the neck and forced under a staircase by an assailant now sought for attempted rape, police stated.
After the attack, the suspect reportedly fled towards Ocean Parkway dressed in a faded red Mario Kart T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and a black ski mask, according to the NYPD’s public reports.
Fortunately, the young girl did not suffer any injuries from the brazen attack, police confirmed.
Later that day, around 6:55 p.m., the same individual is believed to have assaulted a 15-year-old girl in a manner reminiscent of the earlier incident, situated close to where the first attack occurred, as stated by police sources.
The suspect is currently wanted for endangering a child’s welfare, as detailed in a social media post by the NYPD.
