“I remember how he always said ‘I love you’ — even when he was mad at me, even when I was tired, even when he was tired, even when we were fighting,” Stephanie continued. “I remember how he said it at least 10 times a day and how he always, always meant it.

“I remember how much he loved us, how much he loved life, and how much he loved being a cop.”

Stephanie closed her emotional speech by vowing to keep Diller’s memory alive for their son Ryan.

“Jonathan may no longer be with us physically, but he will always be with us emotionally and spiritually,” she said. “He will live on in our hearts, our minds, and in the stories we tell Ryan about his incredible father.”

Following the service, a procession traveled to the cemetery where Diller is buried, with bagpipes playing and a helicopter flying overhead in tribute.

As mourners laid flowers on his grave, Stephanie placed a hand on Ryan’s shoulder and gazed down at his father’s final resting place.

“Daddy’s in heaven now, baby,” she whispered to the little boy. “But he’s always watching over us, and he loves us very much.”

The tragic death of Officer Jonathan Diller serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face every day in the line of duty. It also sheds light on the flaws in the criminal justice system that allow repeat offenders to roam the streets freely, endangering the lives of both officers and civilians.

As Commissioner Jessica Tisch and others continue to fight for justice and reform, the memory of Officer Diller will live on as a symbol of bravery, sacrifice, and love for his family and community.

May he rest in peace and may his legacy inspire positive change for the future.

Jonathan was a man who never missed an opportunity to express his love and affection. Whether it was through texts or little notes left on the coffee machine, he always made sure his loved ones knew how much they meant to him. His wife, now a heartbroken widow, remembers their years together as a lifetime of love that she will never forget.

In a tearful tribute, she spoke of her deep love for Jonathan, saying, “The years we spent together felt like a lifetime in love that I will never forget. To my Jonathan: I love you forever. I miss you every second of every day. There is a big piece of me missing that nothing will ever fill.”

Despite her grief, she finds solace in the memories they shared and the love they had for each other. She hopes to make him proud and continue to honor his memory in everything she does. The thought of seeing his smiling face again someday brings her comfort in the midst of her sorrow.

As she navigates life without her beloved Jonathan, she holds onto the love they shared and the memories they created together. She knows that their love will always be a part of her, guiding her through each day and giving her strength to face the future without him by her side.

In the midst of her grief, she finds moments of peace and solace in knowing that their love was real and enduring. She carries his memory in her heart, cherishing the time they had together and looking forward to the day when they will be reunited once again.
