The Obamas had plans to meet with director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, on the evening they were tragically killed by their son, Nick Reiner, at their home in Los Angeles.
Michelle Obama shared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that they were devastated by the news of their friends’ murders, as they had been friends with the Reiners for many years.
Former President Obama released a statement honoring the Reiners’ legacy and expressing his sorrow over their passing.
Rob Reiner, known for his iconic films like “The Princess Bride” and “When Harry Met Sally,” was found deceased with his wife, Michele, at their home. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and charged with their murders.
Nick’s sister, Romy, suspected her brother’s involvement in their parents’ death due to his troubled history with addiction and mental health issues. He is currently on suicide watch after being placed under arrest.
He is being held on a $4 million bail.
