After a lengthy renovation and expansion, the Frick Collection reopened its doors in April, much to the delight of its devoted patrons. Nestled on East 70th Street and Fifth Avenue, this 90-year-old museum has always been a hidden gem in Manhattan, cherished for its tranquil Garden Court, light-filled Portico Gallery, and august West Gallery. Even during its closure, the museum ingeniously housed its art just a few blocks north in the Breuer building on 75th and Madison.

Whether you have had the chance to visit the Frick since its reopening or not, the museum’s Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, Aimee Ng, is ready to take you on an intimate tour of some of its masterpieces. From the refined Gainsboroughs in the Dining Room to the playful Bouchers in the West Vestibule, Ng guides you through the museum’s collection, showcasing works such as Vermeer’s “Officer and Laughing Girl,” Bellini’s “St. Francis in the Desert,” Rembrandt’s 1658 self-portrait, and Ingres’s “Comtesse d’Haussonville.”

The museum’s newly added features, including an auditorium, café, and gallery space on the second floor, provide visitors with a fresh perspective on the art housed within its walls. Ng’s curated tour offers a glimpse into the diverse and exceptional artworks that make the Frick Collection truly unique.

The behind-the-scenes team, including directors Catherine Orchard and Nina Ljeti, director of photography Michael Lopez, and editor Katie Wolford, worked tirelessly to capture the essence of the Frick Collection. With images courtesy of The Frick Collection, New York, Michael Bodycomb, and Joseph Coscia Jr., the video provides a virtual experience of the museum’s treasures.

As Ng shares her “Objects of Affection,” viewers are encouraged to explore the Frick Collection in person to fully appreciate the beauty and history of each artwork. The seamless integration of art and architecture creates a harmonious environment that captivates visitors and art enthusiasts alike.

With a team of talented individuals behind the scenes, including senior producer Bety Dereje, production coordinator Tanía Jones, and executive producer Rahel Gebreyes, the video showcases the dedication and passion that went into bringing the Frick Collection to life on screen.

Experience the magic of the Frick Collection through Ng’s curated tour, and immerse yourself in the world of art, history, and culture that this iconic museum has to offer. Book a ticket today and embark on a journey through time and beauty at the Frick Collection in New York City.
