After a lengthy renovation and expansion, the Frick Collection reopened its doors in April, much to the delight of its devoted patrons. Nestled on East 70th Street and Fifth Avenue, this 90-year-old museum has always been a hidden gem in Manhattan, cherished for its tranquil Garden Court, light-filled Portico Gallery, and august West Gallery. Even during its closure, the museum ingeniously housed its art just a few blocks north in the Breuer building on 75th and Madison.

Whether you have had the chance to visit the Frick since its reopening or not, the museum’s Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, Aimee Ng, is ready to take you on an intimate tour of some of its masterpieces. From the refined Gainsboroughs in the Dining Room to the playful Bouchers in the West Vestibule, Ng guides you through the museum’s collection, showcasing works such as Vermeer’s “Officer and Laughing Girl,” Bellini’s “St. Francis in the Desert,” Rembrandt’s 1658 self-portrait, and Ingres’s “Comtesse d’Haussonville.”

The museum’s newly added features, including an auditorium, café, and gallery space on the second floor, provide visitors with a fresh perspective on the art housed within its walls. Ng’s curated tour offers a glimpse into the diverse and exceptional artworks that make the Frick Collection truly unique.

The behind-the-scenes team, including directors Catherine Orchard and Nina Ljeti, director of photography Michael Lopez, and editor Katie Wolford, worked tirelessly to capture the essence of the Frick Collection.
