ABC has decided to bring back Rosie O’Donnell to ‘The View’, a move that has sparked controversy among viewers. This decision has raised questions about whether ABC executives are intentionally making a controversial choice that might not sit well with the audience.
One might wonder who exactly was clamoring for O’Donnell’s return to what many consider a contentious television show. This decision appears to have been made without widespread public demand.

Rosie O’Donnell reveals she will return to ‘The View’ for anniversary, details tension with Whoopi Goldberg
On Monday, Rosie O’Donnell announced during a podcast interview that she will be returning to “The View” for its 30th anniversary season. She also shared the reasons for her limited appearances since leaving her co-host position.
In a conversation on “The Tangle” podcast with host Kyle Ridley, O’Donnell was asked about invitations from “The View” to appear as a guest. She recounted a difficult moment with co-host Whoopi Goldberg during her last stint on the show.
“They’ve asked me before, but you know, when I was there last, I had sort of a tense time with Whoopi,” she explained. “I admire her EGOT status, I have respect for her, and I expected that we would be like, you know, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan passing the ball back and forth and then shooting, and, you know, leading the team to victory. But that’s not exactly what happened.”
She continued, “And I think maybe she felt encroached upon in some way, and I was not trying to encroach. I was just doing it the way that I knew how to do it, and it didn’t go so well.”
Despite moving past the tension, O’Donnell expressed hesitation about returning and creating an awkward atmosphere.
The news of her return has already prompted reactions from the public.
