The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched their first NBA championship in franchise history!

Star player and league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder to a 103-91 victory over the Pacers in Game 7, scoring 29 points in front of a roaring crowd at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the Most Valuable Player of the Finals.

Jalen Williams also made significant contributions, scoring 20 points for the Thunder in the crucial Game 7.

Unfortunately, the Pacers fell short of securing their first championship and also lost Tyrese Haliburton to a devastating injury during the game.

The injury occurred in the first quarter of the game, as Haliburton, who was already nursing a calf issue, appeared to suffer a significant Achilles injury. Even LeBron James expressed his dismay over the incident on his X page.

Despite being heavy favorites, the Thunder faced a tough challenge from the Pacers, led by Haliburton and Pascal Siakam, ultimately pushing the series to a decisive Game 7.

OKC, with a remarkable 68-14 regular-season record, encountered some tough matchups in the playoffs, including a seven-game series against the Denver Nuggets before advancing to the Finals.

The Thunder’s journey to the championship included a five-game victory over the Timberwolves in the conference finals.

This historic win marks the first NBA title for the Thunder since relocating from Seattle in 2008.

Congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder on their well-deserved victory!
