A tragic incident occurred at a small-town kindergarten in Riddells Creek, Victoria when a water tanker crashed through a fence, resulting in the death of an adult and injury of a child.

The accident took place on Main Road around 2.20pm on Monday, with emergency services responding to the scene promptly.

Authorities confirmed that the truck involved in the crash belonged to McKenzie Water, a family-owned business, and the driver is believed to have experienced a medical episode.

Footage from the scene showed a significant emergency response, with police cordoning off the area for investigation.

The injured child was transported to Royal Children’s Hospital with a serious but stable upper body injury, while the truck driver was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.

Victorian Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas expressed sympathy for the victims and commended the efforts of first responders in managing the situation.

This tragic incident follows a recent crash at Auburn South Primary School, underscoring the importance of road safety awareness in the community.
